We strive to provide the finest aquatic educational, competitive, therapeutic, and recreational programs to help everyone achieve their personal best. As an Adaptive Swim Instructor at The Rose Bowl Aquatics Center, you will teach swimming techniques and water safety skills to individuals with disabilities under the supervision of our Adaptive Programs Manager.

This role requires good leadership, professional appearance and attitude, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic. You will work well with people, teach, motivate, instill trust, and ensure a positive working environment. Effective policy enforcement is also essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching adaptive water safety/swim lessons to individuals with disabilities
  • Documenting daily attendance, completing assessments, and maintaining necessary data in Athena platform
  • Being prompt and prepared to begin sessions on time and in an organized fashion; obtaining and setting-up equipment prior to a session and putting equipment away when finished
  • Displaying professional behavior and being accountable for the safety and positive learning experience for each individual
  • Responding to family, guardian, and caregiver concerns and problems when necessary
  • Preparing semi-annual/annual reports reflecting individuals' progress and behavioral responses while attending lessons
  • Maintaining a safe and clean work area
  • Attending in-service training sessions
  • Performing other duties as required
