Key Responsibilities- Evaluate Patient Care Needs: Assess patient needs, prioritize treatment, and maintain patient flow.
- Conduct Nursing Assessments: Take patient histories, perform physical assessments, and obtain vital signs and medical tests.
- Collaborate with Physicians: Work with physicians to arrange further medical treatment when necessary.
- Identify Equipment Needs: Recognize equipment that requires repair and report to the lead clinician.
- Perform Occupational and Health Screening Tests: Conduct tests such as EKG, audiometry, spirometry, and vision tests as defined in site contracts.
- Document Patient Information: Accurately document all elements of nursing assessment, treatments, medications administered, discharge instructions provided, and follow-up care arranged.
- Evaluate Health Education Needs: Identify health education needs of patients and provide necessary training and instruction.
- Administer Medications and Treatments: Competently administer medications and medical treatments as directed by physicians or licensed independent practitioners.
- Maintain Medical Records: Use electronic medical record software to maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records.
- Ensure a Clean and Safe Environment: Maintain a clean and safe environment, following infection control procedures and patient confidentiality guidelines.
- Certificate or Degree: Possess a certificate from an accredited nursing school or an associate's degree in nursing. A bachelor's degree in nursing is preferred.
- Current Licensure: Be currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support Certification: Hold current hands-on training in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for healthcare providers. Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.
- Certifications: Possess certifications in occupational health nursing, emergency nursing, or case management, if applicable.
- Experience as a Registered Nurse: Have at least three years of experience as a Registered Nurse in an emergency room, occupational health clinic, or other ambulatory care clinic.
- Technical Skills: Possess knowledge of Internet software, spreadsheet software, and word processing software. Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety: Have knowledge and experience with workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations, if applicable.
