Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team at KJ's Market. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, preparing products for sale, and maintaining a clean and organized meat department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide polite and friendly service to customers, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Prepare products for sale by cutting, weighing, and trimming according to company standards.
  • Price, stock, and rotate frozen and prepared meats and fresh meat case to ensure maximum visibility and freshness.
  • Provide special customer service requests, such as special cuts and slicing.
  • Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, sales, and prep areas to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Communicate temperature failures to supervisors and take corrective action to prevent further issues.
  • Announce meat department sale items on the PA system to inform customers of promotions and discounts.
  • Assist in product receiving and storage to ensure accurate inventory levels.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management to support the success of the meat department.

Requirements:

  • Friendly and outgoing personality with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift 100 pounds occasionally and 40 pounds constantly.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to work in a cold environment.
  • Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Previous meat cutting experience and meat cutting skill test qualifications.
