Job Title: Senior IT Construction Project Manager

Join the City of Houston's team as a Senior IT Construction Project Manager, responsible for overseeing IT-related construction activities to ensure compliance with the City's Facility IT Standard.

Job Summary:

The Senior IT Construction Project Manager will coordinate and oversee IT construction projects from initial planning to design and construction completion, ensuring compliance with the City's IT Standard and minimizing change orders during construction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee IT construction projects from initial planning to design and construction completion
  • Coordinate with facility planning parties to ensure all IT systems required are included in the project budget
  • Perform Quality Control review of IT system design drawings and specifications
  • Coordinate with Architect/Engineer team, Construction team, and HITS internal teams
  • Communicate effectively with project team and business stakeholders
  • Identify, track, and manage risks/issues/decisions on IT-related construction activities
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field
  • At least 5 years of work experience in performing engineering design of building IT and Communications systems
  • Current RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer) certification
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Bluebeam skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • IT and Communications system engineering design experience in an engineering or Technology consulting firm
  • Experience with IT Construction Projects
