Job Title: Registered Nurse - Neurotherapeutics

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Neurology team at McLean Hospital in Somerville, Massachusetts.

About the Role:

As a Registered Nurse in our Neurology department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals receiving Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), and Ketamine treatments. You will work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure seamless patient flow and provide pre-treatment assessments, treatment monitoring, and post-anesthesia recovery management.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide immediate and long-term nursing care needs for patients receiving ECT, TMS, and Ketamine treatments.
  • Work within the treatment team to ensure smooth patient flow and effective communication.
  • Conduct pre-treatment assessments, treatment monitoring, and post-anesthesia recovery management.
  • Establish a therapeutic alliance with assigned patients and promote interventions that provide the least-restrictive and safest recovery.
  • Monitor cardiac and respiratory status and initiate and continue pulse oximetry, oxygen saturation, and EKG monitoring throughout treatment and recovery.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.
  • No experience required, one year medical/psychiatric experience preferred.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Basic computer skills to use electronic or online systems for communication, clinical, and administrative purposes.
