About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at Amedisys, Inc. as a Hospice Care Specialist. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals in need of hospice services.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care services to patients, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as feeding, toileting, and transferring.
  • Perform homemaking and environmental services, including light housekeeping and laundry.
  • Observe and report any changes in patient status to the primary nurse.
  • Follow specific written instructions for personal care prepared by a registered nurse in accordance with the plan of care.
  • Assist patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by the nurse or therapist.
  • Perform and record simple urine tests for sugar, acetone, and albumin.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current state certification (or registration) as a nurse assistant as per state certification/registration requirements.
  • CNA experience within the last two years. If it has been more than two years, you must complete another training and competency program before providing services.
  • Must be able to successfully pass the competency program of the care center.
  • Current CPR certification.
