The Pediatric Office Nurse plays a crucial role in delivering quality, empathetic patient care within the clinic, adhering to Holston Medical Group's high standards of practice, policies, and customer service expectations. As a vital member of the clinical team, the Office Nurse will actively engage in identifying patient needs and implementing strategies to enhance both clinical experiences and overall care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: monitoring vital signs, collecting data through both written and electronic documentation, and administering medications. The Pediatric Office Nurse also serves as a primary source of Health Education within the Patient-Centered Medical Home Health Care Delivery Model.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize patient-first values to assist patients effectively.
  • Availability for shifts throughout the week.
  • Welcome patients with empathy and a warm demeanor.
  • Accurately measure and document patient vital signs in the electronic system.
  • Prepare patients for examinations.
  • Act as a Health Educator as directed within the Patient-Centered Medical Home framework.
  • Secure prior authorizations and pre-certifications for necessary procedures or tests.
  • Dispose of contaminated materials appropriately.
  • Sterilize medical instruments as required.
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean and well-stocked for patient use.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment, collaborating with colleagues to ensure adequate stock.
  • Participate in nurse meetings and ongoing educational opportunities.
  • Be flexible to work in different offices as needed based on organizational requirements.
  • Manage the collection of vaccines and medications as necessary.
  • Communicate lab results to patients, both normal and abnormal.
  • Conduct customer service checks on patients at regular intervals.
  • Change sharps containers and manage biohazard waste.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures established by Holston Medical Group.
  • Maintain open communication with providers to address patient needs.
  • Report any office-related issues to the Nurse Manager and Regional Operations Manager.
  • Ensure all medical equipment is functioning properly.
  • Guide and mentor new nursing staff.
  • Maintain accurate records for vaccinations and report relevant data to health authorities.
  • Complete annual educational requirements.
  • Assist providers with clinical procedures as needed.
  • Knowledge of temperature monitoring devices for compliance with state guidelines.
  • Ensure clinical areas meet regulatory standards.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding personnel and patient information.
  • Assist in enrolling patients in the patient portal as directed.
  • Be prepared to cover shifts for after-hours or weekend pediatric clinics.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
· Valid LPN license in the state of employment.

· 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • CPR certification is mandatory.
  • Exceptional communication skills are essential.
