About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at Entuitive. As a key member of our transportation structures group, you will be responsible for designing and detailing structural elements related to transportation structures, including design and calculations, computer modeling, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and detail structural elements for transportation structures, including subway stations, underground structures, elevated rail structures, and bridges.
  • Assemble engineering drawings and contract documents in collaboration with our BIM technologists and other members of the engineering team.
  • Deliver projects from initial conception through completion within scope, managing project delivery budget and schedule.
  • Coordinate Entuitive's design with other external members of the design team.
  • Monitor objectives related to engineering, design standards/design review, technical specifications, document control, budget, and work breakdown structures, project schedules, resource prioritization, and staffing requirements.
  • Lead client meetings, facilitating solutions to design issues and challenges, and providing status updates.
  • Proactively mentor junior and intermediate designers/engineers in the technical aspects of design and the practical aspects of assembling contract documents.
  • Take a hands-on approach in providing technical expertise and guidance on various projects to ensure a high level of service, including development of structural concepts and methodology, value engineering, evaluation of structural systems, and quality review of structural production.
  • Take a proactive approach to promote Entuitive's services, with a focus on attracting new clients and business opportunities, while retaining existing clients.
Requirements
  • An engineering degree with a focus on civil and structural engineering.
  • Professional Engineer license required in the State of New York.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in the AEC industry.
  • Direct project experience on urban transportation structure projects, including work with the MTA, NJ Transit, Amtrak, the PANYNJ, and/or transit authorities in the New York region or other major urban centers.
  • Design Manager experience is preferred.
  • Experience with accessibility or vertical transportation projects is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in Design-Build projects.
  • Knowledgeable in the appropriate building codes.
  • Knowledge of transit agency standards is considered an asset.
  • Experience with State of Good Repair projects is considered an asset.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget within a large project team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work with people at all levels, including project stakeholders and clients.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong client relationships and assist with business development initiatives.
  • Must have a working knowledge and ability to use programs such as Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and structural analysis software (SAFE, SAP2000, RAM, etc.).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities and deliverables on an ongoing basis.
