MATERIALS MANAGEMENT SUPERVISOR

The Materials Management division at Space Exploration Technologies Corp plays a vital role in the Supply Chain, overseeing the daily receipt, distribution, and allocation of essential materials necessary for the construction and launch of rockets.

The Supervisor will oversee daily operations and strive to surpass customer expectations by spearheading continuous improvements in all facets of logistics management.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct administrative tasks, including but not limited to approving timecards, scheduling, conducting periodic reviews, maintaining inventory levels, and providing one-on-one mentoring and training for team members.
Implement optimal logistics and inventory management practices, including transportation strategies, kitting approaches, inventory management, and work order processes in alignment with established procedures.
Support and uphold metric goals and objectives for the Production Coordinator and Inventory teams.
Perform regular safety inspections, address safety concerns, and advocate for safety policies.
Allocate campaign work order management tasks appropriately, employing a low-priority and high on-time kitting strategy in accordance with internal customer and campaign timelines.
Collaborate with Shipping, Receiving, Quality Control, Transportation, Planning, Purchasing, and other related departments to resolve issues related to material receipt and distribution.
Act as the primary contact for area audits and other events concerning the responsible production coordinator teams.
Ensure a clean and organized workspace by continuously improving workspace design.
Supervise the Production Coordinator and Inventory Management teams.
Encourage an environment where change is welcomed, and ideas are respected, supported, vetted, and ultimately implemented when appropriate.
Perform additional related duties as assigned to ensure an efficient and effective work environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of professional experience in materials management, supply chain, or production/manufacturing; or 4+ years of professional experience in materials management, supply chain, or production/manufacturing.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
APICS certification – CPIM or CSCP
Lean/6-Sigma experience (Green/Black Belt certifications)
Exceptional communication and team-building abilities
Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment
Experience in aerospace, aviation, or automotive manufacturing sectors
Hazmat Certification
Familiarity with transport regulations as defined by 49CFR/IATA
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to lift up to 25lbs unassisted, along with standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying as necessary to perform the functions of this position.
Must be available to work all shifts, extended hours, and/or weekends as required.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Materials Management Supervisor:
$95,000 - $115,000.00 per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one component of your total rewards package at Space Exploration Technologies Corp.

Eligibility for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock, stock options, or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, may also be available.

Employees may accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year.
