Kennebec Explorer, a leading organization dedicated to strengthening individuals, families, and communities, is seeking a part-time Teacher Aide to work with children ages 3-5 in our After Care program at Canaan Preschool. This role will primarily involve working after school hours, with potential additional hours during school holidays.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with a team to support children's developmental progress and school readiness
  • Contribute to child assessment and individualized support for diverse learners
Requirements:
  • Experience working in group care settings for young children ages 3-5
  • Meet agency and State Child Care Licensing regulations for background checks and physical exams
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills, as well as basic computer skills
Education Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED, or working towards an early childhood education training program
  • For Early Head Start primary caregiving responsibilities: Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework focused on infant and toddler development
