Exciting Opportunity for a Fellowship-Trained Pediatric Radiologist


Nicklaus Children's Hospital, a premier 307-bed pediatric facility and Level I trauma center, is seeking a highly skilled fellowship-trained BC/BE pediatric radiologist to join our dedicated team.

We prefer candidates with specialized training in interventional and/or neuroradiology.


The Department of Radiology has been a cornerstone of our community since 1950, equipped with cutting-edge ACR-accredited imaging technology at both our main hospital and offsite locations. Our facilities include:

  • 6 MRI machines (including 3T and intraoperative 1.5 T)
  • Dual source CT (Siemens FLASH)
  • Siemens PET-CT
  • 2 dual-head nuclear cameras
  • 2 Siemens fluoroscopy units
  • 2 EOS imaging radiographic units
  • High-quality GE digital units
  • 13 GE Logic 9 ultrasounds

A brand new, state-of-the-art interventional suite is currently under development.


As the largest pediatric radiology group in South Florida, we proudly host the only ACGME-accredited pediatric radiology fellowship program in the region. Our team consists of 13.6 pediatric radiologists with expertise in various subspecialties, including neuroradiology, cardiac CT, fetal imaging, interventional procedures, and musculoskeletal imaging.

Position Overview:
The role primarily involves clinical responsibilities related to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of pediatric patients within a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians, nurses, advanced practice providers, clinical scientists, and social workers.

This position provides exposure to a diverse range of general and high-acuity pediatric cases, along with opportunities for teaching and supervision of medical residents, as well as participation in research and publication activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize knowledge of growth and development in patient interactions and treatment.
  • Engage in continuous self-education through journals, CME credits, and departmental conferences.
  • Coordinate and deliver monthly in-services to support staff and resident development.
  • Oversee follow-up on tests, lab studies, and patient communications.
  • Provide direct clinical services, including:

Performing and documenting history and physical examinations, interpreting relevant patient data, developing treatment plans, ordering laboratory studies, x-rays, and consultations, conducting patient and family education, and administering medications as needed.

Contribute suggestions for departmental improvements to the Director and attending staff.

Participate in performance improvement initiatives, research, and publishing efforts.

Serve as a mentor and role model for medical students and residents.

Participate in the on-call schedule as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.) from an accredited institution.
  • Current state medical license in good standing.
  • American Heart Association BLS certification, maintained throughout employment.
