Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist Fellowship

Position Overview: We are currently seeking candidates for the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in pediatric and school-based roles.

Compensation: $45 per hour with commitments for the full academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate students' communication abilities (including articulation, fluency, voice, and both expressive and receptive language) to identify communication disorders, assess eligibility for programs, and formulate treatment recommendations.
  • Engage with various stakeholders to share information, address concerns, and deliver services in accordance with established protocols.
  • Organize meetings and processes for eligible students (such as testing, IEPs, and parent conferences) to present evaluation findings, create treatment plans, and provide training to parents, students, and staff.
  • Design treatment plans, interventions, and educational resources aimed at reducing the negative effects of communication disorders while adhering to regulatory standards.
  • Guide eligible students in utilizing appropriate communication technologies (including hearing aids, FM systems, and augmentative communication devices).
  • Maintain comprehensive records (such as progress reports, activity logs, billing details, treatment plans, and necessary documentation).
  • Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars (including training sessions, IEPs, and team discussions).
  • Deliver speech and language therapy to students to mitigate the impact of speech and language disorders on academic success, while pursuing relevant professional development opportunities.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned or required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Licensure in the state of practice is mandatory.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) is preferred and may be required by state or contract.
  • Adhere to all applicable professional standards of practice.
  • Complete Amergis' Competency program when necessary.
  • Current CPR certification is required if applicable.
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray may be required if applicable.
  • Current health certificate as per contract or state regulations.
  • Must fulfill all federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Successful completion of new hire training as relevant to the job site.
  • Understand and uphold patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and proficiency in English to effectively convey and receive information from relevant individuals.
  • Computer proficiency is essential.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
