Job Summary

The Dawes Arboretum is seeking an experienced IT Manager to lead our technical team and oversee the management of all technical and telecommunications systems. The successful candidate will serve as a liaison to outside IT contractors and suppliers, ensuring seamless integration and effective communication.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all areas of information technology, computer systems, and telecommunications.
  • Develop and implement IT policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Evaluate and recommend new hardware, software, and systems, considering factors such as initial investment, refresh cycles, and total cost of ownership.
  • Conduct regular system and process audits, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Provide technical leadership and support to staff, ensuring effective use of technology and minimizing downtime.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in Computer Science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of experience working in an IT position, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with staff, members, and visitors.
