Job Summary

The Clinical Coordinator - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of the unit and staff to ensure high-quality patient care. This role involves coordinating the efforts of the staff to meet the needs of patients and customers, increasing the quality of patient care through educational and quality improvement programs, and providing expert knowledge, leadership, and education for individuals within the unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily activities of the unit and staff to ensure quality patient care
  • Coordinate staff efforts to meet patient and customer needs
  • Develop and implement educational programs to enhance staff knowledge of current trends in nursing
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a quality improvement process for the unit
  • Perform chart audits for quality improvement of documentation and risk reduction
  • Anticipate and improve staffing based on unit needs
  • Collaborate with the Administrative Director and Director to develop and implement projects that enhance the quality of the unit
Requirements
  • Texas or Compact State Nursing License - RN required
  • BCLS Certification
  • NRP Certification
  • ACLS Certification
  • PALS
  • C-NPT within two years of hire
  • TNCC & ENPC within one year of hire
Preferred Qualifications
  • Preferred healthcare experience related to Transports
  • Minimum two years of experience in NICU/PICU/Peds
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Computer literate with excellent documentation and order entry skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills and ability to lead a team and function as a team member
  • One year of education training experience preferred or experience teaching the adult learner
  • Ability to listen, empathize, and respond to patient, family, internal, and external customer needs
  • Encourages team-building efforts
