Director of Development and Donor Engagement

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development and Donor Engagement to join our team at Grassroots International. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual to play a key role in shaping the future of our organization.

Job DescriptionThe Director of Development and Donor Engagement will oversee the development and implementation of a comprehensive fundraising strategy to support our mission and goals. This includes managing a team of development staff, supervising donor engagement efforts, and coordinating with other departments to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
- Supervise and support development team members, focusing on individual giving and donor organizing.
- Work in partnership with the Director of Global Philanthropy to create a fundraising plan and budget.
- Align philanthropic programs with our Strategic Plan and multiyear goals.
- Development
- Maintain a donor portfolio of individual mid-range and major donors.
- Provide support to senior leaders to manage their portfolios, including strategy, research, and preparation for donor visits.
- Organize educational opportunities, such as delegations or learning immersion programs, to deepen funder knowledge and commitment.
- At least three-five years of experience in development, including significant leadership with individual fundraising and donor organizing.
- Demonstrated ability to build and work collaboratively with a team in a mission-driven and culturally diverse organization.
- Experience working in and/or supporting social justice movements or community organizing.
This is a full-time position with a starting salary of $83,961 - $92,971 DOE, excellent benefits, including health, dental, disability, paid sick time and vacation, generous parental leave, and retirement.
