Seneca Holdings LLC is seeking an experienced Assistant Registrar to support our government client at the National Museum of Health and Medicine. The successful candidate will provide critical support to the Defense Health Agency (DHA) in managing recordkeeping for the museum collections according to NMHM policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain forms and recordkeeping systems to document and inventory collection materials and artifacts.
  • Reconcile and maintain the central museum registration numbering system for collection objects.
  • Assist in maintaining current inventories of collection objects at all collection storage facilities and develop long-range plans for museum storage needs.
  • Coordinate activities with curators, collection managers, conservators, and senior museum staff within the Museum.
  • Process new acquisitions and loans.
  • Support exhibit and public programs and collections management divisions as required.
  • Stay current in the museum registrar field through review of museum periodicals, attending professional conferences, and other continuing education programs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree at a minimum, with at least two full academic years of related graduate-level education in a field related to the collections.
  • Two years' relevant collections management and registration experience.
  • Database skills, electronic publication, and other software experience, object handling experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in support of registrant, public programs, exhibits, and general collections management tasks.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Museum studies.
  • Experience using collections management software (Ke EMu preferred).
