About the Role

Abbott is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Packaging Engineer to join our team in Temecula, CA. As a key member of our packaging team, you will be responsible for providing engineering support in the creation, development, and improvement of medical device packaging systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
  • Research, develop, design, evaluate, and document packaging systems, materials, and equipment.
  • Develop new concepts from initial design to market release.
  • Lead project teams and direct support personnel.
  • Write and submit intellectual property, including patents.
  • Investigate and evaluate existing technologies for potential improvement or use.
  • Review and coordinate vendor activities.
  • Establish and cultivate a network of support to facilitate project completion.
  • Participate in the development of less experienced staff.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree plus 6+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong understanding of business unit functions and cross-group dependencies/relationships.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree.
  • Medical device experience.
