We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our physician practice.
Key Responsibilities- Assist physicians with patient care, including measuring and recording vital signs, recording patient interviews, and providing patient education.
- Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests, including phlebotomy.
- Change dressings, apply bandages, remove sutures, and perform other first aid procedures as needed.
- Maintain supplies, equipment, and sterilization of instruments, adhering to OSHA safety standards.
- Perform accurate, legal, and ethical documentation at all times.
- May triage patient phone calls and review prescriptions with patients as directed by physicians.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively with varying populations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and knowledge of computerized processes and data entry procedures.
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification preferred.
- Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Medical Assistant.
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician preferred.
