Physician Assistant Surgery Per Diem

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. The successful candidate will assist and monitor the day-to-day needs of patients under the supervision of a physician, performing duties and responsibilities according to customary and generally accepted medical standards.
Responsibilities- Obtain detailed and accurate patient histories, identify problems, and present information to the supervising physician.
- Chart patient information via written, dictation, or electronic means, including admission notes, history and physical examinations, consultations, and daily patient encounter notes.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with federal and state laws and regulations under the supervision of a licensed physician.
- Assist supervising surgeons in the operating room and procedure rooms as needed.
- Perform post-operative/post-procedure note writing and ordering for supervising physicians.
- Act as a first-line person responsible for post-procedure management of patients.
- Exhibit organizational, communication, and leadership skills, initiative, accountability, responsibility, appropriate judgment, and decision-making.
- Participate in research trials, collecting, aggregating, and entering data.
- Identify patient needs and modify and deliver care specific to those needs.
- Function as a resource to healthcare personnel and participate in their educational programs.
- Adhere to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
- Successful completion of an approved physician assistant program, accredited by the AMA Council on Medical Education.
- Physician Assistant License.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification required.
