Job Summary:

This position plays a vital role in ensuring patients receive their prescribed medications as intended. As a Pharmacy Technician, Certified - Medication Compliance Specialist, you will be responsible for identifying and addressing medication adherence gaps in care. Your primary goal will be to work with patients to develop and implement plans to ensure medications are accessible and taken as prescribed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze refill management, overdue refills, and quality gap in medication adherence reports to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement plans to ensure medications are accessible to patients, including coordinating with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies as needed.
  • Contact patients via phone or in the pharmacy to identify and address opportunities to improve medication adherence.
  • Update patient profiles in pharmacy software and Electronic Medication Record (EMR) with information on newly discovered medication allergies or intolerable side effects.
  • Ensure prescriptions are dispensed as a 90-day supply in accordance with insurance regulations.
  • Enroll patients in auto refill and medication synchronization (med sync) programs to streamline medication management.
  • Communicate with patients to coordinate the pick-up or delivery of prescription medications.
  • Collaborate with Outreach and Enrollment Specialists to assess prescription coverage options and reduce financial barriers to medication adherence.
  • Maintain an accurate log of the number of patients contacted and prescriptions filled as a result.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalency.
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification and current AZ Board of Pharmacy license required.
  • Ability to comprehend and compose instructions, correspondence, and communications in English in both oral and written format.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.
Work Environment:

This position requires reliable transportation as occasional travel and extended hours may be required. Work requires the ability to be contacted by cell phone during or outside of regular work hours.
