Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse III

Join our team of dedicated healthcare professionals at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services as a Licensed Vocational Nurse III. In this role, you will provide advanced vocational nursing care to individuals with complex medical, mental health, and/or behavioral health issues.

Job Summary:

This position requires a skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse III to provide high-quality care to our residents. As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote the health and well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide advanced vocational nursing care to individuals with complex medical, mental health, and/or behavioral health issues.
  • Collect specimens for laboratory examination and conduct appropriate screening tests.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician.
  • Monitor individuals' health status after treatments and procedures.
  • Document and report pertinent treatments and observations in the individual's medical record.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide education and training to direct support professionals on how to provide service and care that support the individual's medical needs.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks. The Licensed Vocational Nurse III will work in a variety of settings, including the State Hospital and other healthcare facilities. The position requires the ability to lift, push, and pull equipment and supplies as needed.
