Key Responsibilities:
The Patient Access Representative is tasked with gathering accurate preliminary information to ensure appropriate patient care, as well as facilitating billing and payment collection. This role requires versatility, enabling registration across all ancillary areas of the Patient Access Department, while also coordinating with various departments within the facility.

Compensation: The hourly wage for this position ranges from $18.27 to $18.82.

Qualifications:
Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

  • At least six (6) months of customer service experience is required.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to accurately obtain and record information are essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively is necessary.
  • Proficient computer skills, including data entry systems and Microsoft Office, are required.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Knowledge of insurance processes is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology is advantageous.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure is essential.

Physical Requirements:
This position primarily involves light work, with occasional lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The role requires occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and reaching, with a majority of time spent sitting, along with periods of standing and walking.

Working Conditions:

  • Environmental Demands: The work environment is clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled, with no routine exposure to hazards. There may be occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, and other hazards associated with the performance of duties.
  • Physical Demands: The role requires the ability to perform a full range of motion, demonstrating visual and auditory acuity, and dexterity to operate office equipment. Candidates must be able to withstand prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and/or walking, with the ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Mental Demands: The position requires the ability to foster collaborative relationships, work effectively under pressure, organize and synthesize new information, and prioritize tasks. Critical thinking, analytical skills, and flexibility are essential, along with attention to detail in a dynamic environment.
