Job Title: CNC Lathe Programming Specialist

Location: Hillsboro, OR

Salary: $30-$35/hr.

Shifts Available: Day shift (M-Th, 10-hour shift, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm) or Weekend shift (Fri-Sun, 12-hr shift, 5:00 am – 5:30 pm)

Position Overview:

We are looking for a skilled CNC Lathe Programmer to develop programs utilizing MasterCam and Esprit for the production of metal components according to detailed specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement CNC programs for metal components using MasterCam (2024 or newer) and Esprit software.
  • Program various CNC lathes and assign program identifiers based on client specifications.
  • Analyze blueprints and determine sequences of operations to ensure the production of high-quality items.
  • Modify existing programs as necessary to meet evolving production requirements.
  • Select appropriate tooling for each CNC machine and design fixtures for lathe operations.
  • Create setup documentation for operators to streamline production workflows.
  • Assess material sizes and availability, and coordinate material requests as needed.
  • Engage in daily communication with the CAD Department, operators, and management to refine and enhance product offerings.
  • Prioritize incoming job requests and review completed products to update documentation as necessary.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of experience with MasterCam (2020 or newer) and Esprit programming software.
  • Previous experience as a lathe machinist is beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Ability to plan and program intricate parts according to blueprint specifications.
  • Proficient in reading tolerances and blueprints.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to work.
  • Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic.
  • High attention to detail and precision.
