Job Title: Cardiovascular Sonographer III

About the Role:

The Cardiovascular Sonographer III is a key member of our team at Baptist Health Care, responsible for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations using sonography. This role requires a high level of expertise and independence in operating sonographic equipment, as well as a strong understanding of medical ethics and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform a range of diagnostic examinations, including abdominal, renal, aorta, thyroid, pelvic, obstetrical, bio physical profiles, vascular studies, testicular and breasts, and 2-D and/or 3-D echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE), stress echo, carotid, arterial, venous, and aorta exams.
  • Operate and maintain sonographic equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
  • Review patient charts and requests with radiologists as needed to ensure accurate examination and diagnostic results.
  • Communicate findings to physicians and other healthcare professionals, providing clear and concise reports.
  • Quality control all images, consulting with radiologists as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of daily procedures, including patient information, exam details, and equipment used.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and maintain knowledge and licensure/certification requirements.
  • Perform general clerical duties and maintain ultrasound rooms for optimal efficiency.


Qualifications:

  • Technical Diploma/Certificate in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field.
  • 1-3 years experience in echo or vascular ultrasound, preferably with a strong background in echocardiography.
  • BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) American Heart Association certification.
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS_CCI) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS_CCI) certification.
