About the role:
A problem isn't truly resolved until it is addressed for all. This is why Google professionals develop products that create opportunities for everyone, whether nearby or globally.
As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you will leverage your technical knowledge to lead intricate, multi-disciplinary projects from inception to completion.
You will collaborate with stakeholders to outline requirements, identify risks, manage project timelines, and communicate effectively with cross-functional partners throughout the organization.
You will be equally adept at articulating your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are at discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Our aim is to cultivate a Google that reflects the diversity of the world around us — and we strive for Googlers to thrive and develop when they join us.
In this capacity, you will oversee communications for Google Cloud and Google Workspace security and privacy incidents and vulnerabilities.
You will be part of a team of professionals including Engineering, Legal, Support, Public Relations, and key partners in Cloud, Search, and Android focused on incident communication planning and execution while applying top operational excellence.
You will help shape the processes and tools necessary for communication management while fostering a culture of trust, respect, and collaboration.
You will play a central role in ensuring that key members across various functions remain completely aligned on Google's communication and compliance commitments to customers and users.
The Core team establishes the technical foundation behind Google's flagship products. We advocate for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google.
These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer.
We look across Google's products to build central solutions, dismantle technical barriers, and enhance existing systems.
As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to influence significant technical decisions across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and develop communication strategies on issues.
- Gather and organize input from technical staff to translate technical concepts into accessible formats suitable for all affected stakeholders, both internal and external.
- Collaborate with incident response teams and subject matter experts to facilitate notifications related to Google Cloud and Google Workspace products through various delivery channels.
- Identify and manage process improvement initiatives aimed at scaling and automating the overall experience and turnaround time for internal and external communications.
- Participate in after-hours and weekend work occasionally as needed for critical incidents to meet Google's contractual and regulatory commitments.
