Job Summary

The Associate Director, Philanthropic Funds is a key member of the Stony Brook University Advancement team, responsible for effectively managing and utilizing philanthropic funds to meet the goals of academic leaders and demonstrate the impact of donor gifts.

This role requires a strong understanding of budget management, finance, and project management principles, as well as excellent communication and analytical skills.

The successful candidate will work closely with academic leaders, Foundation staff, and Advancement Executive Team members to assess opportunities and challenges in utilizing philanthropic funds and develop strategies to enhance their usage.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing professional-level reporting, education, and assistance to academic leaders and Foundation staff on philanthropic fund utilization
  • Collaborating with academic leaders, Foundation staff, and Advancement Executive Team members to assess opportunities and challenges in utilizing philanthropic funds
  • Developing and implementing strategies to enhance the usage of philanthropic funds
  • Compiling, analyzing, and presenting quarterly reporting and modeling to Fund Administrators in academic departments and dean's offices
  • Ensuring compliance with donor intent and all relevant advancement policies and procedures

This is a full-time appointment with a salary range of $91,000 - $118,000. The successful candidate will be eligible for $3,400 UUP annual location pay, paid biweekly.
