Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Mountain Park Health Centers. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and experience in accordance with our organization's guiding principles and applicable federal and state laws.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Duties: Perform and complete assigned clinical and non-clinical tasks, responsibilities, and assignments in the back office, adhering to procedures for immunization and medication administration.
  • Specimen Collection and Processing: Collect specimens, process, and document results in the electronic health records (EHR), following Clinical Laboratory of Improvement Amendments (CLIA) testing instructions.
  • Order Fulfillment and Patient Discharge: Fulfill provider orders within scope of practice and provide patients with discharge instructions.
  • Continuity of Care: Assist with coordinating the continuity of patient care with internal health departments.
  • Exam Room Preparation: Maintain proper levels of supplies in exam rooms and prepare exam rooms for patient care and procedures.
  • Safety and Quality: Identify and report any safety hazards or potential hazards to supervisory staff immediately.
  • Patient Intake: Interview patients to obtain reason for visit, history, and chief complaints; perform vital signs and other patient care needs, documenting the same to complete the patient intake process.
  • Charting and Documentation: Utilize and abide by proper charting and documenting procedures for all patient-related services, exams, interactions, and assignments performed.
  • Attendance and Flexibility: Maintain regular and predictable attendance and perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Certifications: Graduate of a medical assistant program, Current CPR Certification
  • Preferred Qualifications: Electronic Health Record experience, At least one year of previous medical back-office experience, Registered medical assistant (RMA) or certified medical assistant (CMA) credential, Bilingual (Spanish/English or Somali/English)
