Role Overview
The Senior Application Security Engineer is a pivotal role within the Cyber Security team, dedicated to protecting Capital Market's information systems through strategic security initiatives. This position requires close collaboration with the development teams to ensure adherence to the Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) and compliance with enterprise security policies.

Key Responsibilities
The Senior Application Security Engineer will:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert, leveraging expertise to address complex security challenges while adhering to established guidelines.
  • Ensure that all code scanning vulnerabilities are managed in accordance with organizational policies, collaborating with developers to rectify issues prior to production deployment.
  • Oversee the operational management of code scanning tools, ensuring effective scanning and reporting of vulnerabilities, particularly focusing on SAST, SCA, and Container Security.
  • Engage with development and security architecture teams on application security matters, including vulnerability remediation and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the vulnerability management team to validate and report identified vulnerabilities in line with service level agreements.
  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics related to application security risk.
  • Publish and present comprehensive management reports on the status of the Application Security Program.
  • Conduct manual testing to validate findings from vulnerability assessments or penetration tests.
  • Be prepared for occasional weekend and night work based on project requirements.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in software development with a strong emphasis on application security.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C#, C++, Java, Python, or .Net.
  • The ability to analyze and understand code deficiencies.
  • Experience in writing code fixes and creating automation scripts for cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Expertise in developing and enhancing CI/CD pipelines concerning code quality and vulnerability detection.
  • At least 4 years of experience with Static Application Security Testing (SAST) or Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST).
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience addressing container security issues and technologies.
  • A thorough understanding of the Secure Software Development Lifecycle components.
  • Strong knowledge of OWASP Top 10 or Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE).
  • Familiarity with common software threats and their mitigations.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to create comprehensive process documentation.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience in bug bounty programs or penetration testing is a plus.
