Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - New Product Development

At Entegris, we are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team in New Product Development. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing new, high-purity solid precursor delivery containers for advanced node chemistries in the semiconductor industry.

The Role:

In this exciting role, you will work cross-functionally with a diverse engineering team, chemists, and product marketing managers to develop infrastructure that supports the builds, maintenance, and quality of the delivery containers. You will also participate in the development of 2D drawings and 3D models in SolidWorks of complex delivery systems, subassemblies, support equipment, and precursor containers.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate project timelines with Lead Mechanical Engineer and New Product Development team management
  • Hands-on component assemblies for subassemblies and support equipment
  • Manage change through cross-functional partnering in a global environment
  • Develop factory infrastructure to support container builds, cleans, capacity, and quality improvements
  • Entegris is building advanced deposition materials capabilities in other countries; this role will support the alternative site factory build-out
  • Be responsible for the confirmation of component fitment, tolerance stack-up, functionality, and ease of assembly and use
  • Create required documentation for new and modified containers and sub-components, including drawings, bills of material, and part numbers
  • Quote components and order parts directly with machine shops and outside vendors
  • Support 2D drawings of components, subassemblies, and BOMs that are up to ASME Y14.5M-2009 standards
  • Work with the engineering team to create new part numbers, ECRs, and other support documentation
  • Work safely and drive process improvements
  • Listen actively and solve problems in a structured manner
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar technical field or related experience is required; a Master's degree is a plus
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience and demonstrated experience of increasing responsibilities
  • Semiconductor industry experience is highly preferred
  • Experience working directly with machine shops to understand capabilities
  • 3-5 years working experience GD&T and the impact on product cost and reproducibility
  • Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFM/A) experience
  • Up to 20% travel, both domestically and internationally, is required to effectively fulfill the position responsibilities
  • Accessible by laptop computer and cell phone for occasional use during off-hours
