About the Role

RTX is seeking a highly skilled Modeling & Simulation (M&S) Engineer II to join our team. As an M&S Engineer II, you will be responsible for developing and integrating new capabilities into existing simulation models, running simulation environments, and generating analysis data for evaluation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and integrate new capabilities into existing simulation models.
  • Run simulation environments and generate analysis data for evaluation.
  • Work with a team lead to document design approaches and implement them.
  • Work with a team lead to define and execute analysis plans.
  • Participate in technical reviews with internal and external customers.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a BS Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related STEM Degree.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant engineering work experience.
  • Experience with software applications, including experience with natively compiled languages (e.g., C/C++), object-oriented programming design (OOP/OOD), and integrating 3rd-party software libraries and APIs into software tools.
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Perl) to automate tasks and understanding of configuration management tools (GIT, Subversion) and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with integrating distributed Live-Virtual-Constructive (LVC) simulation components.
  • Experience with IEEE 1278 DIS, IEEE 1516 HLA, and/or TENA.
  • Experience with 2D and 3D software rendering, including texturing, shaders, OpenGL, Open Scene Graph, and experience with gaming engines or related technologies (e.g., Unreal/Unity/Creator/3DS Max).
