POSITION OVERVIEW:
Collaborate with various Department of Defense (DOD) agencies to transition IT services into a unified hosting framework.

Your role will be crucial in executing discovery, design, and migration planning tasks aimed at establishing a premier Single Service Provider for the Department of Defense.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:

  • Must hold an active Secret security clearance or be eligible for submission and capable of maintaining an active Secret security clearance once granted. (U.S. Citizenship required)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Document the current infrastructure setup, requirements, and overall architecture. Collaborate with various stakeholders to create both high-level and detailed designs for the existing infrastructure. Identify potential areas for enhancement.
Formulate a strategy to transition the current infrastructure into a unified architecture and devise a hardware procurement plan necessary for migration.

Design solutions, integrate, configure, test, and deploy a variety of server-based applications utilizing Windows and Linux operating systems across diverse virtualization platforms and cloud environments.

Enhance overall system performance and streamline migration workflows. Conduct data captures to gather computing performance and system configuration insights. Develop migration strategies that expedite execution while minimizing disruption to the user community. Establish migration plans for intricate n-tier applications and services.
Collect essential data to predict long-term capacity and performance needs.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:


A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (preferred) with 8-12 years of experience, or a Master's degree in the same fields with 6-10 years of experience (additional years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree). Active DoD IAT Level II (i.e., Security+) certification or equivalent required prior to commencement. Experience in documenting logical or physical designs using diagramming tools (e.g., Visio, PowerPoint, Gliffy, Cameo, MagicDraw) to illustrate systems, subsystems, interfaces, components, and communications of IT applications and infrastructure. Proficient in requirements management and analysis. Comfortable with conducting technical troubleshooting to resolve issues. Experience in creating or executing a migration plan to transition services, applications, or data between environments or to a commercial cloud provider.

Alternatively, experience in planning or executing a technology refresh or lifecycle refresh of an existing IT system. Experience in conducting site surveys or analyzing data obtained from site surveys. Must have broad exposure to common IT infrastructure with at least one area of depth in networking, storage, Identity and Access Management, operating systems, server virtualization, enterprise productivity applications, voice, desktops, or mobile devices. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

This includes drafting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation. Must be capable of presenting designs and plans to technical leadership for approval.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with cloud technologies (i.e., VCF, AWS, Azure, Oracle, or Google). Familiarity with networking technologies. Experience with one or more IT discovery tools (e.g., Solarwinds, Device42, ServiceNow, or similar). Completion of one or more computing certifications that meet or exceed MCSA, VCTA, RHCSA, Server+, or comparable vendor certification.
Knowledge of one or more virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V. Experience in managing enterprise storage solutions (i.e., Dell PowerStore/Unity, HPE Alletra/3PAR, NetApp AFF Series). Experience in managing enterprise backup solutions (i.e., CommVault, PowerProtect, Veeam). Experienced in deploying and maintaining Windows Server and/or Red Hat systems.
Familiarity with Active Directory and Group Policy management and design.
Experience with patching technologies (i.e., VMware LCM/VUM, MECM/SCCM, Satellite/Ansible). Experience working collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
