Job Summary

The Director of Human Resources and Organizational Development will play a pivotal role in shaping the organizational culture and driving initiatives related to talent acquisition, employee engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), performance management, and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Talent Acquisition and Retention:
    • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract top talent aligned with the organization's values and objectives.
    • Assist in developing and updating job descriptions.
    • Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle, from job postings to onboarding, ensuring a positive candidate experience.
    • Implement retention strategies to nurture a high-performing and engaged workforce.
  • Employee Engagement and Well-being:
    • Design and execute programs to enhance employee satisfaction, motivation, and well-being.
    • Conduct regular surveys and feedback mechanisms to gauge employee sentiment and identify areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with department heads to address concerns and promote a positive work culture.
  • Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI):
    • Lead DEI initiatives to foster an inclusive and equitable workplace where all employees feel valued and respected.
    • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and implement DEI training programs and initiatives.

    • Coordinate training programs, workshops, and seminars to support career growth and succession planning.
    • Collaborate with external partners to provide resources and opportunities for continuous learning.
  • Policy Development and Compliance:
    • Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures in compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
    • Ensure fair and consistent application of policies and procedures across the organization.
    • Stay updated on HR best practices and legal requirements to mitigate risks and maintain compliance.
    Requirements:
    • A bachelor's degree in human resource management or related business degree, plus 2 years work experience in the HR or administrative field OR An Associate degree or equivalent in human resource management or related business degree plus 5 years work experience in HR or administrative field.
    • Proven experience in a senior HR role, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
    • Deep understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
    • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
    • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
    • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate organizational goals into actionable HR initiatives.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
    • Must be computer proficient and possess experience of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
