Classroom Support Teacher

In this role, you will serve as a substitute teacher in our classrooms, providing instruction and support to students when their regular teachers are absent. You will also assist lead teachers with instruction, classroom culture, and administrative duties when substituting is not required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver internalized lessons and maintain a positive classroom culture
- Assist lead teachers with instruction, classroom culture, and administrative duties
- Build trusting relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues
- Implement school-wide student culture policies within classrooms and everywhere on campus
- Conduct purposeful observations of excellent lead teachers
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution (Preferred)
- Completed 60 college credit hours or more in lieu of a conferred degree (Required)
- Experience working with PreK-12th grade students (Preferred)
- A belief that all students have the right to a high-quality education
- Unquestioned integrity and commitment to KIPP DC's mission
The salary for this role is $45,000 per year, plus a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurances, short term disability, long term disability, life insurance, and a 403(b) retirement account with a 3% employer contribution and a 3% match with vesting after three years. This is an exempt position and will report to the principal of the assigned school.
