Job Title: Senior Counsel

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Counsel to join our team at Travelers Insurance. As a Senior Counsel, you will be responsible for handling high exposure cases and complex litigation matters, providing exceptional client service, and delivering optimal results for our insured customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Litigate cases to verdict, demonstrating strong trial skills and expertise in litigation.
  • Specialize in one or more areas of practice, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Demonstrate strong legal research, writing, and presentation skills, drafting substantive pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other legal documents.
  • Build and foster internal and external client relationships, providing exceptional customer service and support.
  • Provide leadership through mentoring other attorneys and legal support staff, promoting a culture of excellence and collaboration.
  • Provide internal and external training, seminars, and legal updates to insured clients and Claim partners, ensuring they are informed and empowered to make informed decisions.
  • Effectively utilize support staff, technology, and case management systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Travel as required to meet business needs, representing Travelers Insurance with professionalism and expertise.
Requirements:
  • Senior Associate/Partner level of experience, with a minimum of 7 years of litigation practice or equivalent legal experience.
  • Proven track record of trial skills and techniques, with a strong appreciation for delivering high-quality legal work.
  • Demonstrates strong legal acumen, technical knowledge, and ability to comprehend, assimilate, and communicate complex information.
  • Proven track record of case results favorable to outside counsel, with a strong commitment to customer service and business initiatives.
  • Demonstrates high-level awareness and dedication to business goals, with a personal commitment to professional development and continuous learning.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive salary range: $124,800.00 - $205,900.00.
