Job Title: Subsurface Utility Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Subsurface Utility Engineer to join our team at T2 Utility Engineers, Inc. in Norcross, GA. As a Subsurface Utility Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our infrastructure projects by utilizing advanced technologies to locate and designate underground utilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate SUE utility locating and designating equipment, including pipe and cable locators, Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), and non-destructive vacuum excavation.
  • Complete detailed and accurate daily reports, forms, and field sketches, both electronically and by hand.
  • Use tools and equipment to conduct utility investigations, including jackhammer, pogo-tamper, concrete saw, compressor blower, vacuum hose, air lance, and hand tools.
  • Drive commercial motor vehicles, with a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Perform safety set-up and maintenance of traffic operations under direct supervision of senior field staff.
  • Assist with survey and data collection tasks, supporting overall crew activities.
  • Perform daily routine maintenance of equipment and vehicles.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of experience in the utility locating industry or as a SUE Field Tech.
  • Ability to read and interpret utility company prints and design plans.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and obtain a DOT medical card for CMV operation.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform physical movements necessary to operate heavy tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all climates.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, by company vehicle or commercial airline, for up to 2 weeks at a time.
  • Work nights and weekends when required.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and attention to detail.
  • OSHA Safety certifications are a plus.
