Overview

We are seeking highly motivated interns to join our Survey/Geospatial Discipline in our Charlotte, NC office. As a trusted provider of multi-discipline engineering, design, and consulting services, Colliers Engineering & Design is committed to providing a safe, comfortable work environment and opportunities for career advancement.

Responsibilities
  • Assist technical staff on day-to-day projects in their respective discipline.
  • Transform field-collected electronic files into Autodesk Civil 3D (CAD) produced drawings.
  • Work with more senior staff to produce ALTA, Boundary, Topographic Surveys, As-Built drawings, maps, Specific Purpose Surveys, Plot plans, and Subdivision Record Plats using Autodesk Civil 3D (CAD).
  • Reduce field notes from field-collected data into survey/civil grade base maps.
  • Work in the field on control, topographic surveys, and pipeline surveys as Instrument Man of a one, two, or three-person field crew.
  • Perform mathematical calculations and field checking of field data.
  • Read and understand plans and specifications.
  • Work alongside junior and senior level engineers to execute project deadlines.
Qualifications
  • Pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, CADD, or Engineering Technologies.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the office/field.
  • Basic understanding of AutoCAD preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possess solid problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work in a high-paced environment.
  • Strong computer literacy, to include MS Office.
  • Be able to carry up to forty pounds of equipment up flights of stairs.
  • Be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
