Job Overview

Apollo is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Home Health Aide to join our Home Healthcare Team. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-quality home health visits to our patients, promoting their independence and well-being in the comfort of their own homes.

As a Certified Home Health Aide, you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist, performing various personal care services to meet the unique needs of each patient. Your role will involve observing patients, reporting significant changes, and documenting care provided.

Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on personal care, including bathing, back rubs, oral hygiene, shampoos, and changing bed linen.
  • Assist patients with dressing and undressing, skin care to prevent breakdown, and toileting activities.
  • Keep patient living areas clean and orderly, as appropriate, and plan and prepare nutritious meals.
  • Assist in feeding patients, if necessary, and take and record vital signs, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure.
  • Assist patients in ambulation and exercise, as ordered, and perform range of motion and other simple procedures as an extension of nursing services.
  • Assist patients in the self-administration of medication and perform other tasks as assigned by the registered nurse or therapist.
Requirements
  • Meet the training requirements and successfully complete a training and competency evaluation program that meets the requirements of § b) and (c).
  • Show proof of registration on the Home Care Aide Registry through the Department of Social Services, Home Care Services Bureau, preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Have the ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
  • Be self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision and possess empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail, and impaired.
  • Possess and maintain current CPR certification and have discretion in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Be able to travel to different patients' homes and have prior experience working in a home health setting, preferred.

Apollo currently pays HHA: $40-$50/visit and $20/hour for in-services, trainings, and orientations.
