Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer Job Description

Cetechs, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, is seeking an experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our team of radiologic professionals at the Department of Veterans Affairs in Tucson, Arizona.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate complex sonographic equipment to perform a variety of examinations, including abdominal, chest, neck, and gynecological ultrasounds.
  • Review requisitions to ensure patient history and anatomical area of interest are consistent with the exam(s) requested.
  • Evaluate patient images and identify system errors, working with the Supervisor, Assistant Chief Tech, and BioMed department to facilitate effective and timely service of radiographic equipment.
  • Perform quantitative Doppler measurements to determine blood flow profiles when indicated.
  • Assist radiologists during invasive procedures and perform all types of gynecological ultrasound exams.
  • Independently operate radiographic equipment to perform complex diagnostic radiographic exams.
  • Perform Quality Control procedures, including reject/repeat image analysis, lead apron & glove radiation verification, and setup radiographic suites.
  • Prepare and administer contrast material orally, by enema, or intravenously under close supervision of radiologists.
  • Perform related clerical duties, including sending images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), archiving images, post-processing images, and case editing of computer requests and reports.
  • Maintain records and enter patient information using the Radiology Vista Package and the Computerized Patient Record System (CPRS).
  • Practice radiation safety to reduce exposure to patients and staff, applying elements of the As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) Principle.
Requirements:
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have a current and valid ARDMS license with experience in inpatient, ED, and ICU.
  • Must be certified and licensed by the State of California in radiography and fluoroscopy.
  • Active BLS Certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience within the last 3 years in specialized modality.
  • Provide proof of Health Record as required.
