Key Responsibilities:

The Area Security Advisor (ASA) will deliver physical security and emergency management assistance to Guidehouse locations within their designated area of responsibility (AOR). The ASA will report to both the Guidehouse Physical Security Manager and the Guidehouse Crisis Management Lead.
  • Critical position necessitating a daily on-site presence at respective Guidehouse locations during standard business hours, with occasional after-hours responsibilities.
  • Oversee, direct, and enforce Guidehouse security protocols at locations within their AOR to ensure the effective upkeep of security standards and adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Frequent travel is required, sometimes on short notice, to Guidehouse locations in their AOR to provide security assistance.
  • Offer leadership and direction to Guidehouse personnel involved in physical security and emergency management initiatives at offices within their AOR.
  • Receive and assess operational physical security requests, determining appropriate actions based on Guidehouse security protocols and directing remediation efforts.
  • Manage and execute access control functions, including badge profile creation, programming, printing, revocation, troubleshooting, and visitor management.
  • Review surveillance footage and document findings to support internal inquiries.
  • Collaborate with Guidehouse office leadership to address issues and enhance overall security effectiveness.
  • Respond to alarm incidents in accordance with internal policies, procedures, and vendor agreements.
  • Conduct regular audits of physical security systems.
  • Assist the Physical Security team in preparing for external inspections.
  • Provide weekly metrics on access control and alarm monitoring to the Physical Security Manager.
  • Perform routine patrols of general access areas and controlled environments to identify risks and non-compliance.
  • Ensure that necessary controls are implemented to meet or exceed regulatory and client expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Physical Security team to evaluate requirements for new office projects and ensure timely project completion.
  • Execute and communicate security incident notifications when authorized by management.
  • Support the Insider Threat Program in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Assist the Crisis Response Manager as per internal policies and procedures.
  • Occasional on-site presence may be required to respond to crisis situations during non-business hours within AOR.
  • Submit service requests to vendors and coordinate with technicians for repairs, maintenance, and inspections.
  • Contribute to the upkeep of the business continuity plan.
  • Engage with staff across the organization to maintain and update business impact analysis reports and business recovery plans.
  • Conduct research on industry and regulatory standards related to business continuity management.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree; FOUR (4) years of relevant experience may substitute for degree.
  • Minimum of FOUR (4) years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in risk assessment, business impact analysis, business continuity planning, and emergency management.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Experienced security professional with a background in organizations with 10,000 or more employees.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in high-pressure environments.
  • Familiarity with commercial security products, access control systems, video surveillance systems, and business continuity planning and response.
  • Knowledge of state and local government resources and protocols.
  • Understanding of the U.S. Department of State Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Security or Law Enforcement.
  • SEVEN (7) or more years of experience in a security role focusing on physical security, crisis response, and business continuity planning.
  • Military or Federal experience.
  • Experience with physical security equipment applications and trends.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001.
  • In-depth understanding of various commercial security products, including supply chain management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate business continuity concepts and methodologies to leadership and clients.
  • Direct experience coordinating with state and local government entities and adhering to protocols.
  • Experience collaborating with OSAC member organizations to share best practices.
