Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Sports Medicine and Performance to join our team at Georgian Court University. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the University's overall sports medicine program and athletic training health care services for NCAA Division II athletic teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the University's sports medicine program and athletic training health care services.
  • Collaborate with coaching staff to develop team strength and conditioning programs.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the athletic training facility and fitness center.
  • Supervise staff, student-employees, and interns.
  • Work in cooperation with team physicians to provide medical supervision.
  • Provide athletic training services to student-athletes, including injury prevention, evaluation, assessment, management, and treatment.
  • Develop and implement rehabilitation programs for injured student-athletes.
  • Manage medical records and coordinate pre-participation physical exams.
  • Oversee budgeting and inventory management for athletic training operational expenses.
  • Represent the University at local, regional, and national meetings as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required (Master's Degree preferred).
  • Certified Athletic Trainer by the Board of Certification.
  • Licensed as an Athletic Trainer by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners.
  • Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength & Conditioning Association.
  • Current certification in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer.
  • Leadership experience in an athletic training facility environment (collegiate preferred).
  • Familiarity with NCAA regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and administration skills.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with Electronic Medical Records.
