The Floor Technician will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of non-carpeted floors in the hospital and nursing home. This includes stripping, polishing, waxing, and buffing floors to a high standard. Additionally, the Floor Technician will be responsible for shampooing and cleaning all carpeted flooring in the hospital and nursing home.

Responsibilities:

• Strip, polish, wax, and buff non-carpeted floors to a high standard
• Shampoo and clean all carpeted flooring in the hospital and nursing home
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Operate and maintain floor care equipment, including vacuum cleaners, buffer equipment, and floor strippers
• Follow universal precautions and wear protective devices when performing tasks that may cause exposure

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Training and experience in floor care and maintenance
• Ability to lift supplies within the department as needed
• Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to comprehend instructions and communicate with patients and staff

Work Environment:

The Floor Technician will work in a hospital and nursing home environment, subject to normal working conditions with adequate lighting and a comfortable environment.
