Position Summary:

The Wind Tower Climber is an entry-level technician who collaborates with a wind team to ensure safe and efficient inspection and maintenance of wind turbines. This role requires 100% travel to support various projects across the United States. The Wind Tower Climber reports directly to the Operations Manager and indirectly to the Lead Technician while on-site.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on wind turbine generator equipment safely and efficiently as directed.
  • Maintain and repair machinery or components primarily used in power generation applications, including turbines and generators.
  • Adhere to all assigned Environmental, Health, and Safety protocols.
  • Assist in basic mechanical installations, maintenance, inspections, and upgrades.
  • Document all work performed accurately.
  • Report any policy or procedure violations promptly.
  • Repair or replace parts as instructed by the Lead Technician.
  • Utilize specific tools safely and effectively.
  • Occasionally work independently on components as part of maintenance projects.
  • Travel as required (100%) and be available to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to pass background checks, physical exams, and drug screenings.
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent residency.

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and understanding English.
  • Familiarity with computers and basic software applications.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to climb a 300-foot tower multiple times daily.
  • Comfortable working at heights exceeding 300 feet.
  • Meet specific weight requirements under OSHA standards.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces.
  • Ability to handle repetitive weight up to 50 lbs.
  • Successful completion of climb tests and tower rescue training.
