Insurance Coverage Senior Counsel

About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Insurance Coverage Senior Counsel to join our California-based insurance coverage team. The successful candidate will provide expert advice and representation to domestic insurers on coverage matters, including commercial general liability and excess policies.
Key Responsibilities- Analyse rights and obligations under insurance policies and provide coverage advice to clients.
- Conduct legal research, analyse findings, and draft memoranda.
- Prepare and analyse pleadings, discovery, motions, supporting briefs, and legal correspondence regarding insurance coverage litigation.
- Meet and confer with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
- Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations.
- Take a proactive role in managing matters, deadlines, and communication with clients.
- Possess excellent academic credentials.
- Be admitted to practice in California, Nevada, Oregon, or Washington state, with a particular emphasis on admission in California.
- Have experience in insurance coverage and coverage litigation.
- Have excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
- Have strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Have the ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters.
- Have effective problem-solving skills.
- Have the ability to manage and prioritise multiple projects.
- A competitive salary range of $200,000 - $250,000.
- Hybrid flexibility out of our California offices and the opportunity for remote work for experienced candidates.
