Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pediatric Communication Specialist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication and/or swallowing challenges within our varied client demographic. The ideal candidate will engage closely with children aged 3 to 21 and their families to enhance their speech and language capabilities, improve communication skills, and address associated concerns. Work settings include our clinic, schools, daycares, and clients' homes.
Responsibilities:
- Perform assessments to identify speech and language challenges.
- Create and execute personalized treatment strategies.
- Deliver therapy to individuals facing diverse communication and/or swallowing issues.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, educators, and family members to ensure holistic care.
- Maintain thorough and precise documentation of client progress and treatment plans.
- Engage in ongoing education and professional growth to stay updated with field advancements.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) and licensure in New York State.
- New York State Teaching Certificate.
- Experience with diverse populations, including both children and adults.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
