Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Pediatric Communication Specialist to evaluate, diagnose, and treat communication and/or swallowing challenges within our varied client demographic. The ideal candidate will engage closely with children aged 3 to 21 and their families to enhance their speech and language capabilities, improve communication skills, and address associated concerns. Work settings include our clinic, schools, daycares, and clients' homes.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform assessments to identify speech and language challenges.
  • Create and execute personalized treatment strategies.
  • Deliver therapy to individuals facing diverse communication and/or swallowing issues.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers, educators, and family members to ensure holistic care.
  • Maintain thorough and precise documentation of client progress and treatment plans.
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional growth to stay updated with field advancements.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • ASHA certification (CCC-SLP) and licensure in New York State.
  • New York State Teaching Certificate.
  • Experience with diverse populations, including both children and adults.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Capacity to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
