Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- One to two years of experience working with adults in activity development and implementation
- A solid understanding of recreational therapy methods and their relevance to the needs of residents with cognitive impairments
- Required certifications as per state regulations
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead designated programs and create personalized service plans
- Provide a variety of engaging recreational activities with appropriate supervision
- Involve all staff in the planning and execution of daily activities, including essential daily living tasks
- Organize individual celebrations for residents' birthdays
- Design programs tailored for residents, including those who may be confined to their rooms
- Encourage resident participation through motivation and engagement
- Welcome new residents, ensuring they feel included and connected with others who share similar interests
- Assist in organizing community events and seasonal decorations
- Support initiatives aimed at increasing community engagement
- Maintain accurate records of activities and resident involvement as mandated by state regulations
- Collaborate with the Life Guidance Director to recruit volunteers for the activities program
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Compensation
The salary range for this position is between $17.00 and $19.55 per hour, based on relevant experience and work history.
