The Corporate Security Officer is responsible for providing a safe and secure work environment for Nassau associates, building tenants, visitors, contractors, and the public. This role requires a high level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as an ambassador to the building, greeting associates, tenants, and visitors with a positive attitude.
  • Maintain a favorable working relationship with all company associates to maintain a cooperative work environment.
  • Keep the reception area organized and clean.
  • Provide direction/assistance to associates, tenants, and visitors in a timely, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Ensure building and occupant safety by conducting regular security checks and responding to incidents.
  • Control access to Nassau facilities by monitoring sign-in sheets, issuing visitor ID badges, and operating CCTV cameras.
  • Operate the computerized security, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Respond to and conduct investigations of incidents, submitting security incident reports as necessary.
  • Monitor and respond to building alarms, providing necessary assistance and documentation.
  • Be knowledgeable of all emergency procedures and respond accordingly.
  • Manage incoming telephone calls in a professional manner and transfer calls as necessary.
  • Be available for covering call-outs and responding to emergencies outside of regular working hours.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to interact with associates, tenants, visitors, and the public in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Active listening skills.
  • Possess a valid State of Connecticut Guard Card.
  • CPR/AED/Basic First Aid Certification, or the ability to pass certification after onsite training is completed.
  • At least 3-5 years of meaningful/verifiable employment in security, law enforcement, military, emergency management, or customer service.
  • Knowledge and skill in security access control, alarms, radio, CCTV, and public-address systems.
  • Ability to identify, evaluate, and respond to critical issues and situations effectively.
  • Attention to detail and skill in recording data accurately and writing reports.
  • Ability to learn and follow SOP manuals and all emergency procedures.

Compensation:

Nassau Financial Group offers a competitive base salary of $19/hour, as well as performance-driven incentives and unique professional development opportunities.
