Job Summary:The Registered Nurse III will be responsible for providing direct patient care, supervising nursing staff, and participating in interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. This is a full-time position with a 40-hour workweek, and the successful candidate will be required to work mandatory overtime.
Responsibilities:- Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, treatments, and performing various nursing procedures.
- Supervise and evaluate the performance of nursing staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Participate in interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans.
- Develop and implement educational programs for nursing staff and patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
- Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
- One year of full-time or equivalent part-time experience as a registered nurse in a recognized hospital, clinic, or medical facility.
- Six months of experience in a supervisory, administrative, or managerial capacity.
- Ability to work varied shifts and/or irregular hours/weekends, holidays, nights.
- Knowledge of standard nursing policies, procedures, methods, techniques, safety practices, and medical terminology/abbreviations.
- Ability to prepare statistical reports and maintain accurate records.
- Talent for providing written and oral instructions in a precise, understandable manner.
- Capacity to participate in inter-disciplinary health care teams.
- Skilled in establishing rapport and dealing tactfully with persons from varied ethnic, cultural, economic backgrounds, and/or under physical, emotional stress, or in stressful settings.
- Meditech & Meta experience, CPR, and IV certification.
- Ability to establish effective relationships with individuals, families, providers, physicians, and staff members.
- Proficient usage of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Experience working with individuals with serious, persistent mental illness.
- Bilingual or multilingual fluency.
- American Sign Language (ASL).
- Prior experience working with adolescent populations.
Located on over 20 acres in Worcester, Massachusetts, Worcester Recovery Center and Hospital (WRCH) is part of an integrated network of effective, efficient, and culturally competent mental health services. It provides intermediate and long-term inpatient care for individuals with serious and persistent mental illness who live in Massachusetts, as well as individuals requiring specialized court-ordered evaluations.
