Job Title: Biologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Biologist to join our dynamic team at Axle Informatics. As a Biologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Laboratory of Malaria Immunology and Vaccinology (LMIV) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various laboratory procedures and techniques, including flow cytometry, molecular biology, and immunohistochemistry. You will also be responsible for managing biological samples, inventory, and documentation. Additionally, you will provide technical support and assist local staff in collecting clinical samples at LMIV study sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform immune, cellular, and molecular laboratory procedures and techniques as requested.
  • Manage biological samples, inventory, and documentation.
  • Provide technical support and assist local staff in collecting clinical samples at LMIV study sites.
  • Operate and maintain flow cytometers and cell sorters.
  • Share results with the Federal Task Leader.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate documentation in databases.
  • Laboratory upkeep responsibilities, including ordering supplies and arranging shipments.
  • Responsible for shipping and receiving biological samples around the world.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a science-related field.
  • At least two years of experience using a biological sample inventory system.
  • Experience with flow cytometry and FlowJo software.
  • Experience with cloning and CRISPR.
  • Minimum of four years of flow cytometry experience.
  • Experience in translational research.
  • Previous laboratory experience at NIH is highly desired.
  • Good documentation and communication skills.
