Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties:
- Promote the Mission and Vision of the YMCA while fostering community connections.
- Develop a personal training clientele, offering both individual and small group sessions.
- Provide clear demonstrations and explanations of exercises, ensuring proper form and technique.
- Build strong relationships with members, offering motivation and support.
- Engage in educational sessions for members to enhance their fitness knowledge.
- Monitor and track client progress regularly.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with clients to ensure accountability.
- Ensure proper operation of all fitness equipment and report any issues promptly.
- Be available to assist on the gym floor as needed.
- Adhere to all YMCA policies, procedures, and emergency protocols, including documentation of incidents when necessary.
- Participate in scheduled training sessions and meetings.
QualificationsRequirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or a related field is preferred.
- Certification from a nationally recognized organization (preferred: NSCA, ACSM, NASM).
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
- Enthusiastic, friendly, and driven personality.
- Proven ability to conduct fitness assessments and design tailored exercise programs.
- Skill in instructing and observing participants to ensure safe exercise practices.
- Capability to create and oversee effective exercise programs while recognizing individual potential and limitations.
- Ability to communicate the benefits and transformative nature of personal training.
- Dependable, flexible, and adaptable to changing needs.
- Sound judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Observant and safety-conscious, with the ability to respond calmly in emergencies.
