Position Information:

The Respiratory Therapist in the Respiratory Care Services department is responsible for administering respiratory care within the scope of their practice under a physician's order. This includes oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, electrocardiograms, and mechanical ventilation of adult, geriatric, and neonatal patients. The therapist plans, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of therapy, communicating with the physician and healthcare team.

Experience Requirements:

1 year of clinical experience in respiratory therapy, with a preference for experience in emergency/trauma settings.

Education Requirements:

An Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy is required.

Licensure/Certification Requirements:

Registered Respiratory Therapist, NC Respiratory Care Practitioner, Basic Life Support, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certifications are required.

Work Schedule:

A 3-day schedule over a 6-week period.

Weekend and Call Requirements:

As needed.
